  1.  Golf balls were originally made of feathers
    1. They were made with chicken or goose feathers
    2. Wrapped in leather
    3. They would cost between $10-20
  2. Golfers used to tee-off on piles of sand
    1. Before tees were invented it was common practice to make a little mound of sand to tee off on
    2. They would make them by hand
    3. This started to switch over when the tee began getting popular in the 1920’s
